14 og 15 Juni. Norway Open - Nordic Open på Holmsbu.
2. gang Norway Open arrangeres, likeså Nordic Open. Dette er den viktigste turnering i Norge i 2008

16 - 17 August: International Croquet på Holmsbu, NM Golf Croquet lørdag
og NM Association Croquet søndag.

23 august: Krocketfestivalen, hagecroquet-turnering i Halden.

30 august. NM i Enhåndskrokket på Jæren.

Internasjonale turnering i golf på lørdag og association på søndag. Det oppfordres til å ta med telt eller lignende for grilling og sosialt samvær på lørdag kveld.

The Plate Events Singles
All play to WCF rules for Golf Croquet current at the start of the tournament.
Number of Players:32, max.10 + 12 from abroad
Entry Fees:Championships – 300 NOK
Consolation Events - Free to entrants in the Championships
Players’ Dinner – ca. 150 NOK pp, for Players, Companions
Entry fees may be paid during the event.
No credit cards accepted.
The entry fee includes prizes to everyone, a gift from the tournaments, coffee, tea, refreshments & bescuites/cakes.

Nordic Open 2008: Cup (pokal) to be won three times
Both: Plate Events: Plates (plaketter) to be won once

Nordic Open:To best Nordic citizen: Plate (plakett)
Entries:Close 15 May 2008. Max. 10 + 12 places will be reserved for foreign players. The 3 best from the previous year and the best ranking Norwegian player will be invited, as well as 4 from each of the Nordic Associations. Norwegian & Nordic players to fill in the rest according to our Rankinglist & first apply first play basis. Entries may be accepted after 15 May if places are available.
Format: The tournaments will commence with Block Play. There will be 8 blocks each of up to 4 players. Each match will be a 13 point game against the others in the block. Players will be seeded into blocks using international rankings where available, and so as to avoid fellow countrymen where possible. The 2 best from each block continues. Those who do not qualify to continue will play for the positions 17–32 using single 13 point matches.
There will then be 4 new blocks each of 4 players. Each block match will be a best of three 13 point games match. Players will be seeded into blocks using international rankings where available, and so as to avoid fellow countrymen where possible.
The 2 best players from each block will move forward into a seeded Knockout for the Championship. Each match will be a best of three 13 point games match.
Those who do not qualify for the knock-out stage will be able to enter a Plate event. All losers from 2.round will be able to continue playing so that a full ladder of 16 positions will be produced.
The Management reserves the right to change the number of participants, number of lawns, to introduce double banking etc.
Time Limits:In case of time constraints, the matches will be single 19 point games with no time limits.
Time limits will not be imposed in the Championships unless absolutely necessary.
Dress code:White, club clothes or National Team attire
Accommodation: Accomodation ranges from spa-hotell, through to a newly renovated historic house from the 1700 or so. You may go camping, but one campingsite is a long distance (5 km.) from the croquetlawns! It is also possible to put up tents or caravans at the premises of Holmsbu Golf Course. Showers on site.

Sunday:Championships knock out
General Information:Apart from four/five croquet lawns, Holmsbu Golf Course features a golf course with a Club House which is open for snacks and drinks. There will also be a Croquet Tent.

In the surrounding of the courts is Holmsbu, an idyllic small place at the Oslofjord, restfull. You feel that you are far out in the country. Except from playing croquet (and golf), you can go swimming, take a visit to a spa, a boat-trip on the fjord, try your luck at fishing or just relax. Why not try Norway’s biggest shrimp-sandwich down in the hamlet!

Directions: The venue is halfway beetween the two airports of Oslo, Torp, Sandefjord (Ryanair, KLM Cityhopper etc.) to the south, Gardermoen (Norwegian, SAS, BA, KLM etc.) to the north. 1.1/2 hour from Moss Airport, Rygge (on the east side of the fjord, Norwegian). This means 1.1/2 hours driving.

By car from Oslo (45 km) or Torp drive towards Drammen, then Røyken (on the map), then Drøbak, but do not go under the Oslofjord! Follow signs to Holmsbu.
From Rygge take E-6 north to Drammen (tunnell under the Oslofjord), then follow signs to Holmsbu.

The 2nd. German Open Golf Croquet Tournament

Dear Golf Croquet friends,

We are happy to invite you to our top Golf Croquet event in 2008:


THE EVENT
The 2nd. German Open Golf Croquet Tournament will be held at the Rissener Sportverein Croquet Section in Hamburg, Germany from Saturday 19. July to Sunday 20. July 2008. The Club will be open to competitors for practice on Thursday and Friday.
Holder is Klaus Gollhofer of Salzburg/ Austria.

DETAILS
Entries will be limited to 16. We try to get in as many as possible players from abroad, a colourfull field of players from many nations is part of the tradition of German Open tournaments. The field will be completed with the top German players. The tournament will consist of a prelimnary stage of 2 blocks of 8 players to produce a (double) knock-out stage of 8. Matches will be single13 point games in the prelimnary stage and best-of-three 13 point games at the knock-out stage. Those who do not qualify for the knock-out stage will be able to enter a Plate event. All losers will be able to continue playing so that a full ladder of 32 positions will be produced.
Two croquet lawns will be used double banked, players in previous years described the lawns as partly \\\"challenging\\\".

SOCIAL & TRANSPORT
A special stress will be put on the social side of the event. A gala dinner in a good restaurant, lunches, courtside drinks and maybee a boat trip are included in the programme.
Transport from Hamburg- Airport to the hotel and to courts will be organised.

ACCOMODATION
Hotel and private accomodation with club members are available. For details contact the manager.

TROPHY & FEE
There will be prices for all participants, the fee to include all transports, gala dinner and vouchers for courtside drinks and lunches is EUR 120,00. No profits have ever been made in German Open tournaments.
